VW Nanospyder Concept

The VDub Nanospyder concept was an exercise in unlimited design opportunity with the theme of creating a vehicle that would make the most of California without harming the environment. It's a completely conceptual car--only on paper--that runs on solar power and a fuel cell that pushes power to motors mounted on the wheels. The name is derived from the organically skinned nanotechnology skeleton that frames the car and adjusts rigidity on the fly. The power aspect is interesting, but not half as interesting as the proposal that one day we'll actually be growing our vehicles rather than assembling them, and that the materials today will be replaced with a more cellular and almost living tissue.
