The Highline Party

On April 10th the grounbreaking of The Highline in NYC will begin. To celebrate the city is throwing a free party on Little West 12th Street. A little history: The Highline, an unused portion 1.5 miles of an old Manhattan freight line had become reclaimed by grass, bushes and trees. The Highline Project (after 20 years of legal battles) plans to take this lofted piece of land and convert it into a public place that is contrary to its surroundings--slow, quiet, simple, wild.
